Dubai Trip

  It was more of  a get-together of friends with family . We did not plan the itenary . Just left it with the hosts :P . Day 1: kids enjoyed the  flight journey.  Watched their favorite cartoon shows . We visited Burj Al Arab that evening . It is a landmark building of Dubai built on an island . The view from top of the building was worth the visit. The beach alongside was beautiful.    Day 2 : We visited the famous Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi,the capital of UAE. It is the largest mosque in the country. The mosque was an architectural marvel. Walked around looking at its beauty . Headed back to Dubai . It was late by the time we reached . Kids were asleep . So we planned to go the global village which was open till midnight . It had stalls from different countries . We managed to step into few . They were some nice souvenirs and authentic food stalls . I really liked the whole vibe of the place . Must visit :P Day3:  Headed to the famous Dubai mall. We went to the aquarium

Vizag Trip

 Day 1: We went to Annavaram temple from hyderabad . We did Satyanarayana vratham and then had annaprasadam in the temple premises . Later , headed to vizag.  Had dinner at home and slept off . Day 2 : After having  breakfast we headed to Rishikonda Beach.  The weather was pleasant and the beach water was clean . We enjoyed on the beach . Came back and had lunch from subbaiah Gari butter bojanam .  We visited friends place and then went to simhachalam lakshmi narasimha swamy temple . Here the real idol can be seen only once in a year .  Drove along Rk Beach and then had millets based tiffin for dinner and reached home . Day 3 : Started off to Araku early . Had breakfast on the way . Our first stop was Borra caves . We ordered bamboo chicken and veg biryani made in bamboo before entering caves . The caves were beautiful and we took few snaps . Came back n had the food we ordered . The biryani was awesome.  Did some shopping and then visited tadipadi waterfalls . The waterfalls was good

Gokarna

 Day1: Reached Murudeswar around 12 in the afternoon.  After a quick bath , started to udipi Sri Krishna temple . Had lunch on the way and reached temple around 3pm .We were blessed to have  balakrishna darshan from window . Krishna s idol here is said to be the most beautiful.  Next we headed to Kollur Mookambika temple. Goddess Uma appeared here with Lord Shankara and slayed Mukasura. The Goddess Mookambika is in the form of Jyotir-Linga incorporating both Shiva and Shakthi.. Had darshan and got back to hotel at Mahabaleshwar. Day2:woke up early to visit murudeshwar temple . Inside there was museum of the story . It was good ..it the tallest gopuram.  Then headed to honnavar mangroves . Took  boat ride in the back waters . Very scenic. Kids enjoyed the ride . Then went to Mirjan fort . Suddenly felt we were in some European country . Beautiful.   Later headed to gokarna . Reached our beach view resort . Relaxed for some time and then spent some time on Beach.  Day 3: Woke up and sat

GOA

  We planned for a vacation during my bday and i wanted to just relax , doing nothing is also a luxury . The only place that i could think of was Goa .Two days at  Palolem beach of South goa . Less crowd , good cafes and shallow beach. It was a good decision indeed . We enjoyed our stay . Our cottage was right on the beach ..the view of the waves ,one must only experience it . We also visited butterfly Beach  . You can take a boat from Paloloem. We spotted few dolphins.  The Beach was beautiful . Palolem had some really good restaurants/cafes . Must mention Nireas cafe . Every dish that we tasted here was super delicious . Next we headed to baga Beach.  On the way we had lunch at Martin's corner(Sachin Tendulkar favorite restaurant). The goan fish curry , pickle and senadurra desert where simply superb . True to its fame . Reaching Baga, I felt it was more like marina Beach :P . I personally dint like the vibe also . Too noisy . We had dinner at Burriotos on Baga . Very good .

Guruvayur

Guruvayur is famous for its Krishna temple .  Here Guruvayurappan ( Lord vishnu avatar as Krishna) is worshipped . We went for evening darshan , as we reached late afternoon.  Temple was beautiful with lamps lit all around. Inside the temple premises , we got to experience procession of diety on elephant along with chants of hare Krishna  Wedding and annaprasana ceremonies are a common sight here .  Just outside the temple , cultural programs are performed . Nei payasam, powdered sugar , butter , plantains are some of the prasadam you can buy over the counter.  Unniappams are offered to God during night puja and you have to pre-book it. I heard appams at temple are very yummy . Next day , we visited few temples and tourist spots .  Locals say that your visit to Guruvayur is incomplete without visiting Mammiyur Shiva temple .  Sree Parathasarthy temple ,walkable distance from Guruvayur temple is another holy tourist place . Trichy Trip

 DAY1  Started off to Trichy around 7am . We were accompanied by friend's family . Just 10 kms before Trichy we visited Samayapuram Marriamman temple .We reached around 1pm considering halts due to kids . The temple was crowded even at that time because it was the last Friday of Aadi month .The Goddess idol was huge and face was big and beautiful.  Reached Trichy around 3pm and took rest for a while in hotel.  Evening around 6pm visited Jambukeshwara temple which was around 10 kms from Trichy city.  The temple is said to be one of the Pancha Bhoota Sthala. Here Shiva is said to have manifested in the form of water out of the five elements .Temple had beautiful carvings and architecture. Be prepared to spend sufficient time as the temple itself is big and so is the queue.   DAY2 Had breakfast and headed to Madurai at 10am.Reached Madurai Meenakshi temple at around 12 pm. It was closing time . Luckily,  found a guide who took us inside and we went in  special darshan.  With kids that
